Cherry preserve short bread cookies recipe, sharing a simple and easy recipe for short bread cookies with cherry preserve. Few days back I whipped up a batch of these short bread cookies for snacks.These are excellent to serve as finger food for toddlers and healthy snack recipe for kids .I took the basic recipe from here and altered the quantity.Also I used cherry preserve instead of orange marmalade.I have used whole wheat flour instead of maida,so the color of my cookies were tad dark..Tastes best when served warm with a cup of milk/tea.You can slightly warm them oven if serving next day.

How to make cherry preserve shortbread cookies recipe

1.Mix all the ingredients and knead.Do not add water.The dough will be very greasy and crumbly.

2.Take a baking sheet/tray.Grease the tray and place a butter paper.Spread the dough evenly over the plate.( 1/2 inch thickness). Cut into desired shape.

3.Cover the tray with a foil and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
4.Preheat oven to150C.bake the cookies for 20-25 minutes.

5.Let the cookies remain in sheet for 10 more minutes before storing.
6.Serve cherry preserve shortbread cookies warm.

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cherry preserve
  • A pinch of salt.

Notes
1.You can use maida or a combination of wheat and maida instead of wheat flour.
