Ingredients

For the base/ Besan chilla

  • 3/4 cup chickpea flour
  • Salt
  • Chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Pepper powder
  • Water as required

Pizza toppings (Quantity as required)

  • 3 tablespoons Pizza sauce
  • cubed bell peppers
  • chopped baby corns
  • Grated cheese Use vegan cheese for vegan pizza
  • Oregano seasoning
  • chili flakes
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  • Combine 1/2cup chickpeas flour, salt, chili flakes, minced garlic in a bowl. Add water gradually and make lump free batter.
  • Keep the desired toppings, sauce, seasoning and grated cheese ready for topping the pizza.
  • Heat a heavy cast iron tava. Once the tava is hot, maintain medium flame and pour a ladle full of prepared besan chilla batter. Spread it a make a thin circle. You can make a thick base if you wish. Let the chilla cook for 2- 3 minutes.
  • Lower the flame and flip the chilla. Quickly spread the pizza sauce and arrange the toppings. Add seasoning, grated cheese and press gently. Drizzle some olive oil over the cheese and also around the edges of the pizza. Cover and cook in low flame till the cheese melts. Serve besan chilla pizza hot sliced into wedges.

Notes

1. You can make this pizza on moong dal chilla too
2. You can add a dash of lime juice to the batter
