Ingredients

  • For outer covering
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • Salt
  • water
  • For veggie filling
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup very finley chopped mixed veggies carrot, cabbage, beans,onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper powder

Instructions

  • Take 1 cup wheat flour, 1 teaspoon oil, salt in a mixing bowl. Make a very soft and pliable dough by adding required water. Let it rest for 1 hour.
  • In the meantime let us make the filling. Heat 2 teaspoons sesame oil in a wok. Add 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes and 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic to the hot oil. Saute for few seconds.
  • Add finely chopped veggies. Season with salt and pepper powder. Mix well and saute in high flame for 5-7 minutes. Let cook thoroughly.
  • Divide the dough into 12-15 equal balls. Roll a dough ball into a very thin circle. Dust with flour as required.
  • place 2 teaspoons of filling in the center. Pleat and seal the momos.
  • Finish making 15 momos in the similar way. Arrange in a steamer and steam cook for 12-15 minutes. Serve whole wheat veg momos hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

1. Roll the outer wrapper thinner than we make for regular momos. Else the outer cover made with wheat flour will be somewhat hard.
2.You can use filling of your choice.
